The Lord's Prayer

"Kahs mim pritëzomse xæmihsave. mi mim tiht ñañeni xëxi:  

Mi mim nëfhsæszove nive.  üæ dihsæs gihsi mi nise deve ddon xæmihsave: 
Üæ mimizo hüëmu kahs ni mive: 
Üæ hlæx hlæzo hlae ku ni tamiñën. ddon ku hseküoddi tamuñën üæ hlæxdda hlæfxædda tifxirin:
Kuzo. ddedda ñañeni hlæhsæsse. no hlæxxiri ni mive: 
Ño mizo hseküoddi zot nëfhsæsdda ke gihsidda ke kæhtlasdda. ñeddëkise ke ñeddëkise. xæñi:”

Although the traditional religion of the kanhlengi is still honoured and followed by many, it is a pluralist society, and some use the text above – the Lord’s Prayer.

 

ANALYSIS OF THE TEXT:
Kahs mim pritëzomse xæmihsave. mi mim tiht ñañeni xëxi:
Our Parent, you are in heaven, I wish your name not to be an unclean thing
1st/3rd pronoun POSSESSIVE parent-KNOWN-TOPIC-COPULA-INFIX us heaven-in, you POSSESSIVE name NEGATIVE OPTATIVE COPULA ritually-unclean-thing.
Note that pritë is an archaic form of püitë, a parent. It now only appears in traditional/liturgical texts.

Mi mim nëfhsæszove nive.  üæ dihsæs gihsi mi nise deve ddon xæmihsave:
I wish your realm was here, I wish the putting into action of your decision was on earth as in heaven

Note that, as with traditional religious texts in many languages, the forms may vary slightly from standard contemporary forms. At least, that's my excuse for the mistakes I'm sure I've made!
